INTER-DEPARTMENTAL QUIZ COMPETITION

 

Cinema – Bollywood & Hollywood

(Under Students Activity Week 2026)

Greetings and Happy New Year! Students of Semester I and Semester III are hereby informed that an Inter-Departmental Quiz Competition on Cinema (Bollywood & Hollywood) will be organised by the Students’ Welfare Sub-Committee. Interested students are encouraged to participate and showcase their knowledge of Indian and World Cinema.

 Event Details:

Date: 5 January 2026

Time: 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM

Venue: LT 1 & LT 2

 Participation Rules:

Each department may send a maximum of TWO teams. Each team must consist of 2–4 students. Maximum number of teams: 20 (First come, first served).

 Quiz Format:

Total Rounds: 4. Duration: 8–10 minutes per round. Medium: PowerPoint Presentation (PPT) with still photographs.

ROUND DETAILS:

Round 1: Lights, Camera, Recall! (Warm-up Round)

5 short questions per team. 5 marks per question. Question types include:

Famous dialogues, Actor/actress identification, Director–movie match and Short factual questions.

Round 2: Guess the Scene (Visual Round)

2 still visuals/scenes per team. Identify the movie. 10 marks per visual.

Round 3: Bollywood vs World Cinema (Thinking + Fun Round)

Divided into two parts:

Part A: Indian Cinema and Part B: International Cinema. 4 questions per team. 5 marks per question.

Topics include movie remakes, Oscar-winning films, and famous characters.

It is an open Round: If one team fails, other teams may attempt and score points.

Round 4: Rapid Fire – The Final Reel (Final Round)

6 rapid-fire questions. 5 marks per question.

Question types include:

Actor in a movie, Sequel identification and Director of a film.

General Instructions: 

Teams must report to the venue 15 minutes before the scheduled time. No electronic gadgets (except those permitted by the co-ordinators) are allowed. The decision of the co-ordinators (judges) shall be final and binding. In case of a tie, a tie-breaker round may be conducted.
