Annual Sports for 2022-23 

Gokhale Memorial Girls' College Annual Sports for 2022-23 will be held on Friday, 23rd December, 2022. The programme will start at 9.00 am. 1. Aesthetic Representation - Alpona, Rangoli, Fruit/ vegetable arrangements ( Saturday, 24 September, 10.30-12) require two participants working as a team. Those who submitted the Google form in this category may either pair up or choose a partner who would submit a form by 20 September.
2. Just a Minute: dress and speak ( Monday, 26 September, 11 - 12.30 ) - Participants will dress up as a character from past, present or future based on the theme of AZADI and speak for 30 seconds to 1 minute, identifying that character with slogans, phrases and such. This is not a satire or spoof, straightforward representation only.
3. Creative Writing (26 September, Monday, 1-2 pm) in Bengali, English or Hindi - Participants will write a fiction or nonfiction/story/essay on the theme of AZADI.
4. Poster making ( 28 September, Wednesday, 11-12.30) on the theme of AZADI.
5. Group dance (28 September, Wednesday, 1-2.30) - group will consist of not more than 5 members all of whom will have to submit Google form. The theme is AZADI and time 5 minutes per group.
6. Insta story is the only online competition, actual submission to Instagram not required, it is a descriptive term implying such a presentation ( collage, photo with microstory, video or any depiction of AZADI suitable to the standards of our Institution ) to be uploaded to a link soon to be shared with you. Date of submission has been shifted to 24 September -28 September.

Online lecture for the series "An Evening with an Expert"

Prof. Anirban Roy will be presenting an online lecture for the series "An Evening with an Expert" organized by Department of English, Gokhale Memorial Girls' College at 7:30 P. M. on 15.09.2022.

The title of the talk is "The Nile and His Romantics; the Ancient Egyptians and their Nile".

Concept Note: The presentation shall provide iconographic and geographical readings of the three compositions:

1. "To The Nile" by John Keats,
2. "A Thought of the Nile" by Leigh Hunt, and
3. "To the Nile" by Percy Bysshe Shelley.

The three texts shall be compared with references to Egyptian art and mythology, particularly the ancient Egyptian ideas regarding aquatic symbolism, stellar beliefs, and the connection between their river and the concepts regarding their native land. The mythical information shall be contextualized with the poetic visions of the three Romantics working on the same subject, and the discussion shall highlight the individual modes of admiration for the River and the Land it enriches.

It is found that many candidates have applied multiple times possibly by clicking the "SUBMIT" buttons repeatedly which resulted in the appearance of same candidate multiple times in the system generated merit list. Therefore it is notified to all candidates to consider the multiple entry of same candidate as a single entry because her candidature will be considered only once. Eventually candidates who are now at merit position below the merit position of a "multiple entry candidates" will automatically upgrade in the list.

Economics Dept. mentoring session

Student mentoring for Semester 6 in the department of Economics will be held according to the following schedule.

Financial Assistance

Applications are invited from students of Semesters 2, 4, 6 interested in seeking financial assistance, for the session 2021-2022. Kindly note that, the annual family income of the applicant cannot exceed Rs 2,50,000/-. Also note, applicants who are recipients/ claimants of any other Government/non Government grants must make full disclosure (Suppression of facts will lead to withdrawal of assistance). Priority would be given to those who do not receive any other stipends/ grants/scholarships.

The last date for submitting applications with supporting documents is 23/04/2022, Saturday by 12 noon (Office 2). Applicants are asked to take admission first.

Following Documents are to be submitted:

1. Current Admission challan
2. Family Income Certificate
3. Proof for other assistance schemes (if applicable).
