The Bangla Bhasha o Sahitya Bibhag (the Bengali Language and Literature Section) of Gokhale Memorial Girls College works as a unified community in social interactions with all its former students and alumni.

World poetry day celebration 21 March 2017, students of the department of Bengali participate in a talk by the notable poet and author Binayak Bandyopadhyay.

21 March 2017, Department of Bengali celebrates World Poetry Day with poet Bubun Chattopadhyay. The interactive session claimed spontaneous response from the class.

'Protitee' is a Departmental Journal entirely planned and published by the students. 'Protitee' means knowledge. The first issue was published in 2011.Though irregularly published, the journal it marks a good initiative indeed on the part of the students.
